Charles (Charlie) S. Givens is president of Charles S. Givens Interests, LLC and Monitor Asset Management Inc., Oklahoma City-based investment companies specializing in the design, construction, management and marketing of mixed-use projects of offices, shopping centers and residential condominiums.

A native Oklahoman, Charlie Givens always knew he wanted to be a real estate developer, builder, designer and investor. After a brief stint at the University of Oklahoma, he began work in the construction business at the age of twenty. He started buying properties and handling the remodeling work himself, completing his first apartment project at twenty-one.

Charlie has focused on the development and growth of Hotel ZaZa Houston over the past couple of years, researching market and hospitality trends for the business and leisure traveler. Along with his partner in Hotel ZaZa, Jeff Records, the team has created a new hotel concept for Dallas and Houston.

He has homes in both Dallas and Oklahoma City where he resides with his wife, Laurie, and his five children. Mr. and Mrs. Givens are active in several charitable and civic associations including the Oklahoma Medical Research Center, Lyric Theater, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Casady School, Oklahoma Museum of Art, Oklahoma City Beautiful, Oklahoma City Zoological Society, Oklahoma City Junior League, Oklahoma AIDS Care Fund and the Oklahoma Bureau of Tourism.
